We are very lucky to have so many wonderful volunteers at our various singing centres for elderly people in rural North Yorkshire. Our volunteers get involved in all sorts of ways including – greeting participants; collecting contributions; making tea and coffee; helping with transport to enable those with mobility issues to sing with us; bringing friends and neighbours from outlying locations to sing together with everyone.
Since we started our volunteers have given over 1,100 hours of their time to help make the sessions go with a swing.
So we say a BIG BIG thank you to all our volunteers in singing centres for elderly people in rural North Yorkshire for this help that they give so willingly.
If you would like to be a Musical Memories volunteer, please do get in touch via our contacts page and find out more about our singing centres for elderly people in rural North Yorkshire…
A Musical Memories ‘Happy Hour’ is the perfect opportunity to get together in a social setting, have a cuppa, reminisce, make new friends and sing!
A Musical Memories ‘Happy Hour’ is a fun, social singing sessions for older people in Yorkshire during which we sing together some of the best known songs of the 20th century. Everyone is provided with a songbook in large print for easy reading and the singing is accompanied by live piano and guitar.
We have always loved playing music and singing together and started Musical Memories in order to create social singing sessions in various locations to help bring older folk together for the simple pleasure of singing, talking, remembering and enjoying each others company – not to mention the cuppa and biscuits!
