We always like to look for a theme for our Happy Hour sessions. So this last week or two we have been singing some watery, rainy songs – somehow September seems to lend itself to this!
‘September in the Rain’ is a lovely old song written in 1937 by Harry Mercer and has been covered by lots of different artists over the years, including Dinah Washington, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra and even The Beatles – who sang it at their very first audition and were told as a result that they would never make it in the music business!
