BBC Radio York

We had a visit from BBC Radio York when we sang with our friends in Danby on Tuesday afternoon (19/09/2017).

Next day Kay Crewdson had a slot on her Breakfast Show about helping people across North Yorkshire to come together to beat loneliness and isolation through social get-togethers and other activities – cue an interview with Debbie Swales of Revival North Yorkshire and Musical Memories beavering away in the background singing with the lovely folk from Danby and surrounding villages…

A little bit later on Ruth of Musical Memories was interviewed by Kay Crewdson live on air. SO live was it that the mobile signal let us down once again so Jenny one of the Danby volunteers helped out until Ruth returned on a land line…

We are hoping to work with Kay once again in the Autumn – so watch this space – literally!

What People say…

Mum is really enjoying her Monday morning with you all. It gives her something to look forward to and she's really chatty on a Monday night when I ring her.  I think her neighbour has started going round to check she has a lift down too...
Mrs B of Scarborough
You always create a lovely atmosphere, and what you and Neil do is brilliant...
Mrs H of Sleights
Thank you for a lovely year of singing and memories, we have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The CD is very good and we can read everyone's stories. The afternoon tea was such a happy occassion...
Mrs H and her husband of Kirkbymoorside
We enjoyed being a part of your Treasured project. We have played the CD many time already on our daily journeys - what a difference it makes to a day out! Thank you for the hard work you put inot the Big Sing! Such a lot of planning, co-ordination and effort... but, what a joy!
Mrs Y and her Mum of Pickering
A really big thank you to you both, the singing has been an absolute joy and a tonic!
